Hon. Cosmas Oyagi of Nyakoe ward in Kitutu Chache South Constituency came to the aid of a student who was stranded at Joining Tom Mboya University. Hon. Oyagi paid part of her school fees which enabled her join the varsity to pursue A Degree in Education. Josephine Onsongo,who scored a C+ from Kanunda mixed secondary school, expressed fear her dream to become a teacher and help her vulnerable family in future, risked being dashed to the ground. The KNC MCA from Nyakoe ward has appealed for support for Josephene Intriguingly, her elder sister was also at home performing casual works after deferring her studies at one university for inability to raise fees. MCA Cosmas Oyagi petitioned Education ministry cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu to exempt bright students from poor families from paying fees. He challenged him to conduct an assessment of the vulnerable students with a view to offer them free education. The MCA suggested grassroots administration to identify need children whose names could be forwarded the ministry for consideration and assistance
